US: ICE Stop Turns Deadly, Suspect Shot by Officer in Franklin Park, Illinois

On Friday, September 12, in Franklin Park, west of Chicago, an ICE officer was severely injured and a suspect, identified as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez — an undocumented immigrant with a prior reckless driving charge — was killed after allegedly resisting arrest and dragging the officer with his car during a vehicle stop. The officer fired shots, and Villegas-Gonzalez later died at a hospital. The incident prompted a large law enforcement response and road closures, while immigrant rights groups and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker called for transparency and accountability, voicing concern and criticism over ICE operations in the area.

Japan: Shinkansen Services Halted After Two Linked Cars Disconnected

Tohoku Shinkansen services were suspended for hours after two linked trains uncoupled between Furukawa and Sendai stations in Miyagi Prefecture, northeast Japan on Thursday, September 19. JR East halted all bullet train services between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori in Aomori Prefecture for inspection. This video shows a bullet train stopped in Osaki City, about 8 kilometers south of Furukawa station. There is no injuries reported among the some 320 people aboard.

China: 3 Cars Display Synchronized Spin-Around On Icy Road In Henan

On February 25, 2024, a mesmerizing scene unfolded in Xincai, Henan, China, as three vehicles spun around at the same time on the icy road. Gliding gracefully across the frozen surface, the cars executed seamless maneuvers, swiftly transitioning and coming to a halt with precision. According to local reports, the driver of the first car misunderstood that the filmer would cut him off so the driver applied the emergency brake forcing the cars behind to stop as well.
